This marks the beginning of my 10th year at Zoneton. It's been an amazing ride and I can't wait to see what happens in the next 10 years. I've met and taught so many great students who I've witness grow up to be great members of society. The first group of 8th graders I taught could have graduated college by now! But those students are in the past and I'm even more excited about the students I currently teach at Zoneton. With the new Chromebooks this year we are embarking on new ways of learning. Google Classroom will be where you can find all assignments that can be completed outside of school.
This year is also the first year that I'm also a mother. My son, Clark, was born this past April. He is adorable and I can't believe the amount of love I have for him.

A new quarter has started and that means new students in all of my classes. Every student in my Arts and Humanities classes received a copy of the syllabus. Parents and students should read over that at home and fill out the attached information page. Please bring the completed paper back to me tomorrow for 5 points. Each student will also need materials for this class: a 1-inch binder (6th - white, 7th - green, 8th - black), a pack of 5 dividers, loose leaf notebook paper, and a pencil or pen. The binder is crucial to a student's success and organization in my class and will remain the the classroom. Please let me know if you have any questions. You can contact me via email or the contact page on this website.
Welcome back to another year at Zoneton! I'm looking forward to a great year full of fun learning and great conversations. Today all of my classes received syllabi. The Arts and Humanities classes should return the attached page signed before the end of the week. All students will also need their materials before Monday August 8th. This includes a binder, dividers, paper, and writing utensils for my Arts and Humanities classes. My 6th grade French seminar class will need a notebook or binder, index cards, and writing utensils. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you might have. Let's be Zoneton Strong from DAY ONE!
As of right now we have about 12.5 days of school left this year. With all of the end of the year activities and testing class time is precious. It also means that students have fewer days to make up any missing assignments. Please stay up to date with missing work on Infinite Campus. You can find the assignments and instructions on the appropriate grade level page on this website. Please contact me if you have any questions.
Welcome new students and parents to my class website. I hope you find this site helpful over the next nine weeks. Each grade has a separate page (links are located in the header above). On each page you will see that I upload notes and assignments weekly, and sometimes daily. Right now each class has the syllabus and information sheet uploaded. Don't forget that these need to be filled out by a parent and returned to Mrs. Thompson for 5 points.
Also, please be aware that all students need to have a binder, paper, and 5 dividers that will stay in the classroom. I prefer that they are a specific color (6th grade - white; 7th grade - green; 8th grade - black), but as long as the student has a binder any color is fine. These supplies were listed on the supply list at the beginning of the year as well as on my syllabus. Please email me if you have further questions. Students in my 7th grade Arts and Humanities class have a test tomorrow. Hopefully they have brought home their study guide so they may study. It should already be completed. This is due tomorrow! All notes and assignments from this unit are posted on the 7th grade page if you need them.
As this quarter is winding down, please make sure all work is being turned in. Missing work will lower your grade. Check infinite campus and your grade level page to make sure you're keeping up. Let me know if you'd like to stay for Friday school to make up any of the work.
Seventh grade students have a test tomorrow over our Greek Art unit. Study guides should have gone home tonight so students can study. They are due tomorrow. If they are turned in on time, completed, and are signed by a parent there is an opportunity for extra credit. The study guide assignment is posted on this website.
For notes and all assignments please head over to the seventh grade page. Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. Welcome back to another year at Zoneton. This year we are Zoneton Strong: Strength in character, community, and academics. My hope is that all students will be successful in everything they do here at Zoneton as well as in their life outside of school.
Please take a look around my website and make sure to go to the grade level page relevant to you. The updated syllabus for each grade has been uploaded and they included the materials needed for students in my Arts and Humanities classes. Please try to have all supplies by Monday, August 17. The syllabus also needs to be signed and the information sheet filled out and turned in. This is an easy 5 point assignment for every class. Feel free to email or contact me if you have any questions or concerns. My information can be found on the contact page. Have a great year Zoneton! Today we worked on a Study Guide in class. This assignment is due on MONDAY before we take our Drama Unit Test. Parents, if you sign the study guide and your student completes it and turns it in on time they will earn extra credit points. Any notes and assignments that can help with the study guide can be found on the 7th Grade Page.
Also, don't forget that the Column Project is due on Wednesday April 29th. This will be your last weekend opportunity to go out to find these columns. Remember, if your child needs the alternate assignment then I will need a note, email, or the returned permission slip stating that they will not be able to complete the project as assigned. Let me know if you have any questions. |
